DTN ProphetX Mobile offers...

Guide for IQFeed users

  • Symbology differences for futures data between DTN ProphetX Mobile and DTN IQFeed: ProphetX uses slightly different symbology than IQFeed. While IQFeed uses a "[ROOT SYMBOL]#" for the front month contract, ProphetX uses [ROOT SYMBOL] followed by "@1" for the front month (ie. @ES@1). Unlike IQFeed, ProphetX will also allow you to enter relative month contracts such as @ES@2, @ES@3, etc for 2 contracts out or 3 contracts out. For continuation charts, in ProphetX you would use @ES@C instead of IQFeed's symbol of @ES#. ProphetX also has a "most active" symbol allowing you to enter "@ES@A" to always receive data on the contract with the highest volume from the previous day. Also note that ProphetX doesn't back-adjust continuation charts and rolls to the next month on expiration date as opposed to following IQFeed's roll rules.
  • The news feeds you subscribe to on IQFeed are available on DTN ProphetX Mobile: DTN ProphetX Mobile gives you access to the same news feeds in your IQFeed subscription (both basic service and premium news).
  • User defined formulas and spreads: You can now enter your own custom formulas. For example, create a Copper Gold Ratio Spread by entering "(50000*QHG@1)/(100*QGC@1)" to see the ratio of 50,000 lbs. of copper and 100 oz. of gold. Or, track the current value of a holding by entering "(AAPL-50.00)*500" to get the P/L of owning 500 shares of AAPL with a purchase price of $50.
  • Setup filters/searches within news: In the news pane, you can add keywords with AND/OR logic to search and present only the news you are interested in. For example, you can create a news search called "Economy" and have it show any stories with the words "consumer spending" OR "employment" OR "jobless" OR "CPI" OR "Federal Reserve" OR "Economy". The news search is a full text search and will update anytime a new story matches your criteria.
  • The refresh interval of data is configurable: In order to efficiently utilize bandwidth, we allow you to choose a refresh interval of 5 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 5 minutes or a manual refresh.
  • Simultaneous use of the Mobile app and IQFeed on the desktop is not allowed: Due to exchange regulations, you are only allowed access to your data subscription from a single device at a time. If you login with the Mobile app, IQFeed will automatically disconnect. If you login to IQFeed, the Mobile app will be disconnected.
  • A help guide is available in the app:, tap the "gear" - settings icon and then tap "About" and then tap "Welcome" to see how to navigate the app, add symbols, etc. On the iPhone, tap the menu icon on the lower left corner, then tap "Welcome".   • There are some things that aren't available on DTN ProphetX Mobile: We don't currently have market depth or OTC Markets available on our Mobile app. You will have access to level I data within quote lists, along with news and charts
